I went to Brussels on Monday / Tuesday this week to present the results of the mMag project (www.mmag.org) to the European Commission eTEN programme. It went very well and the mMag team was congratulaed on a job well done with a final award of ‘Excellent’ handed to the mMag project. The mMag project was a market validation of the Zinadoo service in Spain, Greece, Germany, UK and Ireland. Two sets of trials resulted in a favourable result for the rollout of future trials of Zinadoo with local mobile operators. I was privilaged to manage the project and work with a team of dedicated professionals. and here they are!

l-r: Eduardo from TID, Grace from Aceno, Gerry from AePONA, Carlos from TID, Fiona (me) from WIT, Dorota from FOKUS and Anthi from OTEplus.

Children of Hurin

tolkienchildren.jpg

Just finished my copy of the Children of Hurin, Tolkiens oldest of the Middle Earth sagas. It tells the tragic story of Turin and sister Nienor, cursed by Saurons predecessor Morgoth, the first Dark Lord. Excellent, was over all too quickly – definitely on the re-read list! Typically there are rumours of hollywoodness, however I believe Harper Collins have said they want people to enjoy the story as a book for now. Artwork is by Alan Lee – a superb artist for the Tolkien stories, however I must admit a fondness for John Howe’s artwork…I don’t know about copywrite, but I hope it’s ok to publish these out of respect for great artwork…

new gaff in the country..

We’re moving at the end of May. Here’s a pic – it’s a very long house and gorgeous inside.. I love the kitchen and the solid fuel burner in the sitting room! Its a converted stables and we have 2 neighbours. Our section runs for the 3 doors from the right..Its a lovely house inside and we’re very excited. It’s in the small village of Aglish near Dungarvan on the ‘gold coast’ of Waterford.  So it’s not quite a cottage by the sea – but it’s near enough for us!!  (Andy you know you’re welcome to visit anytime!)
