A dear friend in Auckland New Zealand has recently gone out on her own to set up a regular meeting for like minded individuals (not business-only people) to gather and share their ideas and get support and advice. It is a true pooling of resources and encourages people who have a great idea but not sure what to do with it to come along and relax and share their idea and see what others think about it.

This informal gathering is “a forum for sharing ideas and resources, it is informal and no expertise is expected!”

It’s called ‘The Entrepreneur Club‘ – check it out!

Sounds wonderful – and non-exclusive and welcoming and warm. Rock on! (as another dear friend says! – Mike!)

Dying to Dye?

Ladies / Gents – on my latest plans to dye my ever greying mop – I’ve realised that you not only have to consider the shade your hair is now when looking at the lovely shades portrayed on the box, but also your skin tone.
For example: I’m about to add a touch of reddish brown to my dark brown colour. The dark brown should tone down the red. However, the girl on the box is more tanned than I – and the colour represented looks more subdued.

Just be mindful – the girl on the box looks great with her hair colour and when you compare your colour now with the handy image of what your hair colour will look like – remember to consider your skin tone.

Morning all. Update due. The country is still in a financial crisis, so I’m not too far out from my last post. Still have a job and that’s the main thing. We still have a roof over our heads and Leah has clothes on her back!

Workwise – Paul and I are both working hard on an FP7 Call 5 proposal. It’s a very competitive area, but we have a great consortium. It’s an exciting project.

Other updates – Leah is walking… and I bought her first pair of ‘real’ shoes yesterday! They are lovely and the best thing is she loves them! they also have little shinning lights when she puts her heel to the ground. wonderful.

holiday in Portugal was good – lovely weather mid 20′s not too hot. Leah loved it. She seems to excel in the sun – gets taller more mobile…or maybe we just have the time to watch her grow. Wish it was holiday all the time…!

Mint (the financial management app) and Wallstats (the guy who does the Death and Taxes poster) put together a "visual guide to the financial crisis" - or a flow chart, rather - to clear up some of those cloudy details. It goes back to 2003 after the dot-com crash up to the recent government bailout.

Baby call – Leah is heading for 4 months this friday. I still look at her in awe and have to remind myself that this is my little daughter. She’s healthy and bright, alert and happy and chilled and .. teething! Poor baby. However, with all this growth going on – she’s started to sleep through the night. It happened last Tuesday 28th of October, I got up about 2.30am, a bit groggy like, and with no noise coming in over the monitor, I snook in and had a peek – she was sleeping soundly….and so it continued a few more times through the night..she woke at about 6.30am in terrific form- chatting away to the zebra attached to her cot. Couldn’t believe that she had slept from 7pm until 6.30am.
